Sri Lanka requires most visitors to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arrival. The process is straightforward and can be completed online in under 10 minutes.
Step 1: Visit the official Sri Lanka ETA portal (www.eta.gov.lk).
Step 2: Fill in the application form with your passport details, travel dates, and accommodation in Sri Lanka.
Step 3: Pay the fee (USD 30 for a 30-day tourist visa, USD 50 for a 6-month multiple-entry option).
Step 4: Receive the ETA by email within 24 hours. Print a copy to present at immigration.
Visa on arrival is also available at the airport, but applying in advance is faster and recommended.
Citizens of Singapore, Maldives, and the Seychelles do not need a visa. Most other nationalities are eligible for the ETA. Always double-check the latest rules before you travel.
